The Pink Galah
The Pink Galah is a passion project and long running dream of providing fun, welcoming, creative workshop opportunities regularly to the rural town of Cobar, NSW and its surrounds.
Let's get people together!
Sig Peters is the dreamer behind The Pink Galah.
A farmer's daughter, professional doodler, teacher and Mother to four young boys, Sig grew up on a sheep and cattle station north of Cobar. She understands what it means to live rural and the distances travelled by many who live in remote locations to do different things and have new experiences.
Sig is passionate about the arts and creating connection and community. You may even see Sig's artworks filtered throughout the Main St of Cobar and brightening up public areas. She is passionate about making her community a better place for all.
Her passion for the arts and being a teacher in the Far West, fuelled her longing to provide creative workshop opportunities for children and adults who live in her rural community.
This passion comes from growing up in a small country town and many saying over time that there isn’t a lot on offer for those who live in rural towns. Sig believes in the motto “you make your own fun” and “where there is a will, there is a way”.
The Pink Galah was designed to unleash imagination and creativity in a fun and welcoming atmosphere, regardless of artistic ability. An opportunity for all to feel welcome whilst having a tonne of fun.
A space where you can unwind, escape and create while meeting new faces.
Sig believes that being creative is one of the best ways to calm the mind, give back to self, re-energise and have fun.
Life for many is busy, fast paced and sometimes overwhelming - this can see many of us not making time for ourselves.
Art therapy is good therapy!
Join in on the fun and excitement that The Pink Galah has to offer.
